Dynes / PoW Reconstruction – Notice for Deer Park Closure

Deer Park Road from Fisher Avenue to Forest Park Road

Dynes Road and Prince of Wales Drive

Integrated Road, Sewer, and Watermain Construction

August 2017

Dear Resident,

Construction work for the Dynes Road and Prince of Wales Drive Reconstruction Project is now underway. Part of this project includes the installation of a large diameter trunk storm sewer, as well as replacing the existing sanitary sewer and watermain and roadway reconstruction.

Who:               The City of Ottawa has retained the contractor, Ottawa Greenbelt Construction Limited, to complete the work.

Why:               The road closure is required to facilitate the installation of the sewer and watermain within the intersection, to accommodate the Contractor’s equipment, for protection of existing utilities, and for the safety of the workers and the public.

When:             The intersection closure is scheduled to be in-place from Monday, August 28 to Friday, September 22, 2017.

Where:            Deer Park Road between Fisher Avenue and Forest Park will be closed to vehicular and bicycle traffic.

Access to the Community

During the road closure, residents on Deer Park Road can access their community from Meadowlands Drive or Baseline Road.  A safe and accessible path of travel for all pedestrians will be maintained through and/or around the construction site.

On-Street Parking

During construction, on-street parking will be restricted on Deer Park Road within the vicinity of the construction area.

Construction Disruptions

The Contractor is assuming full responsibility for the construction work until the work is entirely complete. The Contractor will take every precaution necessary to minimize interruptions to the everyday life of your family and/or operation of your business, but as you can appreciate, there may be some inconvenience during the course of the work, such as delays and traffic detours when travelling through the construction zone, noise, dust and vibration. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.

Accessibility is an important consideration for the City. If you require special accommodations, please contact the undersigned. Provisions in the contract have been made in order to ensure Para Transpo vehicles are able to access the apartment buildings within the limits of this project.
